April Orientation Sessions for free manufacturing training

Are you looking for a new job with a future? The Louisville region has hundreds of job openings in manufacturing, and employers are hiring! 


Act now to claim your seat in the late-April training class that can give you the edge in getting one of those jobs!


A one-month training course at the Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center at 160 Rochester Drive in South Louisville leads to a “Certified Production Technician” credential recognized by the region’s leading manufacturing companies. Those companies recruit from graduates of the course each month.

Your first step is to attend a required Orientation Session at the center, 160 Rochester Drive in the Airport Industrial Center in south Louisville. The center is on the TARC Bus Route 4, “Southside @ Rochester” and about a four-minute drive from the S. 3rd Street exit off the Watterson Expressway (I-264). 


The next Orientation Sessions are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday, April 7, at 2 pm
  • Tuesday, April 14, at 2 pm

Call 502-276-9711 today to pre-register for an Orientation Session where you will learn more about the course and the requirements for admission to a class that will start in late April. You must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED to take the course.



RecruitMilitary Veterans Career Fair, April 2    

RecruitMilitary Veterans Career Fair will be tomorrow, April 2, at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, 2800 South Floyd Street, in Louisville from 11 am to 3 pm. The event is open to veterans, transitioning military personnel, National Guard members, Reserve members and spouses. Click here for more details.



Morales hiring event at Nia Center, April 6

Morales Group is hiring employees for a Louisville distribution center. These positions offer a competitive wage with temp-to-hire potential, offering full-time employees pay increases, bonuses and medical, dental and vision benefits. Morales Group is currently hiring for Light Industrial, Clerical and Administrative positions.  

Meet with a Morales Group representative at the Kentucky Career Center, Nia Center, 2900 W. Broadway, Louisville KY 40211 on Monday, April 6, from 10 am to 2 pm. 

JCPS Application and Recruitment Fairs at two locations

First Neighborhood Place at T.J.Middle School and South Central Neighborhood Place will host Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) Application and Recruitment Fairs during April. This is an opportunity to get your foot in the door with the local school system through substitute to full-time positions. 


Substitute jobs start at $9/hr. Other positions will be full-time with benefits. Substitute positions vary from custodian and lunchroom assistants to security and instructional assistants. Full-time positions vary from teaching and coaching to custodian and bus drivers. 


Plan to attend one of the Neighborhood Place events:

  • Friday, April 10, from 10 am to 1 pm at 1st Neighborhood Place at T.J. Middle School, 1503 Rangeland Rd.
  • Tuesday, April 14, from 10 am to 1 pm at South Central Neighborhood Place, 4255 Hazelwood Ave.
